Hip joint implant

horisontal line

Motor Sich ETBS hip joint implant system has been designed in such a way to ensure implant safe use in any hip joint configuration and in any case development.
To set joint implants, special instrumentation and additional fixtures are used, with implant accurate mounting and safe fixation in the bone provided.

The hip joint implants system includes 6 items as follows:
1. Total (bipolar) Motor Sich ETBS-1 hip joint implant seated without cement The hip joint implant seated without cement includes a titanium acetabulum component with a plastic insert, removable femur joint head component, and stem.
Three versions of acetabulum components seated without cement are available: petalled, screwed, and press-fit. All the acetabulum component versions are available in various standard sizes. The petalled acetabulum component is flanged: an antiprotrusion ring of a larger external diameter can be seat on the flange.
Two femur head component types are available: the femur head component of 28 mm and 32 mm diameters, with the neck having various lengths and the interval between standard sizes being 3 mm.
Two variants of stems for metaphysial fixation of implants seated without cement are also available: standard variant (of six standard sizes) and dysplastic one (of five standard sizes). There are seats on the two stem variants to seat a removable collar of six standard sizes available, with each collar being used on any standard stem size. It enables practitioners to use the implant stem both without the collar and with it, with the collar being selected individually according to the case.
2. Total (bipolar) Motor Sich ETBS-2 hip joint implant seated with cement
The implant consists of a polyethylene Muller type acetabulum component, femur head components of various lengths and diameters of 28 and 32 mm, and rough-polished standard and dysplastic type stems.
3. Single-pole Motor Sich ETBS-3 hip joint implant
The implant is a stem with a removable femur head component of 42 to 56 mm diameter (with a diameter interval of 2 mm). The implant is intended for treating femoral head fractures in older patients.
4. Single-pole module Motor Sich ETBS-4 hip joint implant
The implant is a stem seated with cement or without cement and a removable femur head component of 44 to 58 mm diameter (with a diameter interval of 2 mm). The femur head components are available with three neck lengths: (0), (-5), and (+5) mm. The implant is intended for treating femur head fracture; and, in case of need, it could be converted into a total implant without removing the stem by the two techniques as follows:
  • a) by replacing a full-size femur head component with a femur head component of 28 or 32 mm diameter, and setting the acetabulum component that has a metal-polyethylene friction twain;
  • b) by setting a full-size acetabulum component without replacing the femur head component but with a metal-polyethylene friction twain.
  • 5. Total (bipolar) revision Motor Sich ETBS-5 hip joint implant
    The implant has its collapsible stem for diaphysial fixation. The distal (diaphysial) stem part is availablein in three standard lengths to match three standard sizes of proximal (metaphysial) elements of the hip joint implant.
    6. Motor Sich ETBS-6 implant of articular surface of femoral head (system by I.A. Rudenko)
    This implant is intended to restore the articular surface of the femoral head in young patients in case of femoral head aseptic necrosis, with the acetabulum intact. It is a full size hemisphere whose size is equal to the external acetabulum diameter. The implant is set onto the femoral head that has a sufficient support area. It has an additional capability to position the surface to load, as well as the tightening mechanism stabilization system. This implant type makes it possible to avoid substantial bone resection.

    The materials used to manufacture the implants must meet special requirements, with biocompatibility, wear-resistance, and lack of natural aging among them. All the materials used have a permit for application in Ukraine and Russia:
  • - Cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy that corresponds to ISO 5832-4 is used for the femur head component;
  • - BT3-1 titanium alloy that corresponds to GOST 19807 standard is used for the stem, acetabulum component, and calcar;
  • - Super high-molecular polyethylene of Khirulen brand that corresponds to ISO 5834-2 is used for the insert.
