M-11 - AIR-COOLED PISTON ENGINE


The M-11 air-cooled engine designed by А.D.Shvetsov in collaboration with N.V.Okromeshko was in series production from 1927 to 1959. This engine was the best at that time in its class due to outstanding characteristics. The engine power was increased from 100 hp at maximum continuous to 140 hp and even to 160 hp at maximum rating in M-11E, M-11D M-11FR engine versions.

The total number of more than 120 000 quantity-produced engines have been operated on 88 types of aircraft including U-2, (Pо-2), UТ-1, UТ-2, AIR-6, Yak-6, Yak-12, Yak-18, Sh-2 and others.
