ASh-62IR AIR-COOLED PISTON ENGINE

The quantity production of ASh-62IR (A.D.Shvetsov design) engine featuring power of 1000 hp was launched in 1948. The engine had 12 series with total life reaching 600 h.

This engine was happy enough to become a long-liver. It continued to be operated on the Li-2 passenger and transport planes up to 1970s. The An-2 airplane had about 20 modifications. It has been operated in 28 countries and manufactured in the USSR and in Poland (under license).
