AI-20 TURBOPROP ENGINE
In 1957 the plant launched quantity production of the AI-20 engine designed by A.G.Ivchenko. The engine takeoff power rated at 4000 eq.hp with SFC equal to 0.270 kg/eq.hp·h. High operational reliability and long service life of the AI-20 were ensured by the in-design thermal and gas-dynamic parameters and features of the engine. The turboprops have been installed on the Il-18, Аn-10, An-12, Il-22 airplanes and their modifications. In the course of operational development complex engineering problems have been solved. In 1966 the engine life was brought up to 4000 hours.
