AI-8 AUXILIARY POWER UNIT
In 1964 the plant mastered production of the AI-8 turbogenerator developed by Progress ZMKB. The product was intended for starting the AI-20, AI-24 turboprops and for emergency power supply to the aircraft electrical system. It is used on the Mi-6, Mi-6A, Mi-10 helicopters, Be-12 plane and PAES-2500 power station.
This engine became the basis for manufacturing the GIG-4 inert gas generator that is the installation of fire-fighting in the mines.
