TV3-117 TURBOSHAFT ENGINES FAMILY


In 1970 the factory mastered production and began to quantity-produce the 2225 hp TV3-117 gas-turbine engines developed by Klimov Design Bureau (St.Petersburg).

Designed for the transport and combat helicopters the TV3-117 became the baseline model for the most numerous family of turboshaft engines. The various modifications of this engine have been installed and are operated by now on the Мi-8МТ, Мi-14, Мi-17, Мi-24, Ка-27, Ка-29 helicopters. The TV3-117VM (VMA) engine modifications power the Мi-28, Мi-171, Мi-172, Ка-31, Ка-32, Ка-50 and Ка-52 new helicopters. This engine version has been granted the Type Certificates of AR IAC and national AR of Canada, India and China. The engine production has been certified by AR IAC and the quality system with respect to manufacture, overhaul and maintenance has been certified by the BVQI transnational company.
