AI-9V AUXILIARY POWER UNIT

The AI-9 engine has been re-designed as soon as the plant began to produce helicopter engines.

After installing a starter-generator the modified engine designated AI-9V has emerged. The AI-9V is used on the Mi-24, Mi-8T, Mi-17 and other helicopters. It is used as a basis for making a self-contained mobile gas-generating installation MT-1 utilized for remote fire fighting in mines, tunnels, storehouses and in other closed premises.
