D-36 TURBOJET ENGINE

Since 1977 the plant has began the quantity production of the D-36 engine (designed by V.A.Lotorev of Progress ZMKB), which became the base engine for principally new generation of turbofans with high bypass ratio. For the first time in the history of national engine-building the modular design has been employed here. The engine features takeoff thrust of 6500 kgf with SFC equal to 0.35 kg/kgf·h. The engine is used to power the Yak-42 passanger airplane and the An-72 and An-74 STOL airlifters. The engine production has been certified by the Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (АR IAC) and SDATU and the quality system with respect to manufacture, overhaul and maintenance has been certified by the BVQI transnational company.

The D-36, Series 4A, engine version is intended for the An-74TK-300 passenger plane. The engines are attached to the underwing pylons that helps to improve the aerodynamic and flight performance of the aircraft.

The D-36, Series 5A/5AF, engines are intended both for retrofitting the available planes and powering advanced airplanes of various type, the An-148 in particular.
