AI-24UBE GAS-TURBINE ENGINE

Due to development of AEW systems by some countries an acute problem of building a powerful airborne power unit had arisen. The required power unit was built in 1981 by the Zaporozhye-based engine-building plant that began its quantity production designated as the AI-24UBE. The engine power is 800 hp. It is intended for supplying electrical power and compressed air to the customers and is installed on the A-50 aircraft.
