Specialists’ training in the NC equipment upgrade has been organized at the company, with some of them being trained at SIEMANS company and maintenance facilities in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Russia, etc. Now, the experts of Chief mechanical engineer department are pursuing their efforts to design electric diagrams and technical documentation to upgrade the NC machines currently operated at the company; design machine operation algorithms taking into consideration units and mechanisms modernized; put into operation NC machines both acquired and upgraded. Those developments have been translated into upgrading hundreds of machines, including scores of machining centres and high-precision machines made in Germany, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria, and Russia. The equipment is upgraded and overhauled on the basis of state-of-the-art technological solutions, with cutting-edge element basis and computer technologies that allow the company to create flexible production systems being used. The basic programmed numerical control selected for the machining centres is SINUMERIC 8400 multipurpose module system with motors and standard SIMODRIVE 611 drives by SIEMENS, Germany. This NC system is able to control actually machines of any type. SINUMERIC 802 is used for two- or four-axial NC machines. NC systems by other manufacturers also can be used: 2C42-65M by PO Contur, Russia; NCT 2000 by NCT, Hungary; NC-110, NC-200, NC-210by Balt-System, St. Petersburg, Russia, etc. Replacement of mechanical information input devices by electronic ones has been carried out at the company, which allows the it to give up the use of punched tape and connect all the NC machines to a single information network. Up to now, approximately 1000 NC machines and machining centres have been connected to the network. More than 250 multiaxial NC machines have been equipped with digital indication measurement systems over the last three years.
