Medical and preventive health-care institutions

The medical division of Motor Sich was founded in 1966. Since 1996 it has been headed by Lyudmila I. Zavgorodnyaya, the honored doctor of Ukraine, prize-winner of the regional contests ‘Hostess of her homeland’ and ‘Star path’, prize-winner of International award ‘St. Sophia’, delegate of the reginal Counsil of two summons, trustee of presidential candidate of Ukraine. She has been awarded with the commemorative medal ‘For the development of Zaporozhye land’, diploma of the central committee of trade unions of health-care workers of Ukraine. The medical division is an institution of the highest qualification category (accredited to the highest category twice: in 1999 and in 2003), a prize-winner of year 2004 rating ‘Best factories of Ukraine’ in the nomination ‘Medical service and health-care’. The ambulatory - polyclinic and permanent care is rendered to the employees of the industrial enterprises: Motor Sich JSC, SE Ivchenko-Progress, Zaporozhye engine-building factory, Slavgorod brick works, consumer goods plant as well as to the factory labour veterans and pensioners. Due to good logistical background, furnishing by the diagnostic equipment and highly-qualified staff the medical division is capable of rendering medical care to the territorial preventive medical care institutions of Zaporozhye at the level of European standards. The medical division incorporates an out-patients’ clinic for 1200 visits per day, a hospital for 245 beds, a hydropathic establishment for 180 visits per shift, department of prenosological forms of ailment where 3798 employees improve their health annually, childrens medical invigoration complex , where children of the factory employees impove their health. ÂThe medical division incorporates 598 employees including 116 doctors (2 Cand. Sc, Med., 69 high- and first-category doctors), 281 hospital nurses (167 of them possessing high- and first-category). Since February 1, 2001 the medical division together with insurance company Motor-Garant have introduced the voluntary medical insurance, which is the most advanced and promising way of rendering medical assistance to people. 30 thousand employees have been insured on the factory’s account by the collective agreement of medical insurance. An extensive campaign is underway to promote a voluntory medical insurance of the family members of the factory employees. A nine-storied up-to-date European-standard building to be commissioned in 2004 provided with a swimming pool, saunas and many latest gadgets of balneology and physical therapy will help improve the possibilities of the rehabilitation and recuperation medical treatment. The main objective of the medical division is to ensure the mass character and and accessibility of medical care for the factory employees. The medical division strives for bettering the health index of the people.
