Sports Complex Motor Sich

The Sports Complex Motor Sich, a sports shop of the factory acquires a financial and moral support from the administration, trade union committee and all the collective of Motor Sich JSC. The sports complex comprises:
    - stadium for 10 000 seats, 2 football fields, combined grounds for mini-football, handball and basketball, two volleyball grounds, ten tables for ping-pong, two courts for lawn tennis, 1500 m health lane with exercisers;
    - track-and-field ring: three 250-meter running tracks, a handball gymnasium with 1000 seats, playing hall (handball and three volleyball grounds) for 300 seats, boxing halls, halls for callisthenics and competitive gymnastics, dumb-bell lifting and two gymnasiums for athletic gymnastics;
    - gymnasium of Sporting Children's and Junior School of Olympic Reserve: 460 m2 for training high divers;
    - swimming pool 'Slavutich': 50 meters long with an area of 1050 m2, two halls for athletic training, hall for shaping, 2 saunas, hydro-shower;
    - swimming pool 'Society for Saving Drowning People': 25 m long, with an area of 250m2;
    - water sports base for 80 vessels: 2 courts for lawn tennis, basketball and volleyball grounds;
    - two sports-and-recreation camps for 110 persons.

In the Sports Complex successfully work three professional handball teams: 'Motor', 'Motor-2' playing at the Ukrainian Championship in group A of the Major League and 'Motor-3' playing in group B.

The 'Motor' team became the champion of Ukraine and won the National Cup.

In 2001 'Motor' won the European Cup of Cups in handball for the first time in the history of Ukrainian sport.

The players of 'Motor' Elena Tsygitsa, Liliya Stolpakova, Elena Resnier and Tatiana Yares'ko became silver prize-winners as members of the national Combined Team and Elena Tsygitsa was included into a symbolic European combined team.

At the Championship of European Supercup 'Motor' losing the only point, won silver medals. Larysa Zaspah has been recognized the best goalkeeper at these competitions.

The Chief Coach of the team is V.V.Kirilenko, the coach is S.G.Podolsky.

'Motor-2' team tanked among the 8 strongest teams of Ukraine. The Chief Coach of the team is I.Diachenko.

The Motor Sich sports complex sportsmen in water sports are known in Ukraine and beyond.

Master of sports Maryia Ogurtsova more than once became the winner of Ukrainian championship.

The school of Motor Sich sports complex divers has been and remains among the world-best and the names of our glorious sportsmen are known far beyond Ukraine.

The Honored master of sport Elena Zhupina is the world champion, prize-winner of the Olympic games, winner of the Cups of Europe and Ukraine. In all E. Zhupina possesses 27 medals (including 13 golden medals). Together with the Honored master of sport Anna Sorokina (owner of 12 golden medals) she has brought many victories to our team at numerous international events in synchronous high diving.

In 2001 E.Zhupina won a golden medal of the fourth Super Finals 'Grand Prix' in Athens. In April 2002 E. Zhupina and A. Sorokina won the first place in Stockholm at the competitions for European champions cup in synchronous springboard diving, at the same competitions R. Volod'kov and A. Zakharov won the first place in synchronous high-board diving.

The high divers are trained by the Honoured coaches of Ukraine: T.A.Turova, L.N.Barsukova, L.A.Skorina, A.A.Barsukov, E.N.Pishkurov. The sports complex incorporates the following sporting sections: boxing, boar-racing, track-and-field athletics, sailing, football and draughts with 250 sportsmen of different age engaged.

The boxing section has brought up the international class master of sports Sergei Gorodnichev, who participated in the Olympic games and became the bronze winner of the world event.

Since 1980 the sports complex has incorporated the dumb-bell lifting section, where 15 masters and numbers of sportsmen of mass categories have been trained after introducing 'Master of sport' classification standard to sport qualification (1985).

In 2001 Danyil Gun'ko, master of sport of international class, took the 3d place in the dumb-bell lifting word event.

The taekwondo martial art section has existed in the sports complex since 1995. Within a short period of time the sportsmen of quite high level have been trained under the leadership of coach A.Yakovlev. So, in the course of summer-time Ukrainian youth games they, as a part of the team, won the 2d all-team place. Anastasiya Kupinova, who participated among adult sportsmen in the Ukrainian championship and Ukrainian open cup event won a silver medal, fulfilled the qualification standard of the master of sport and was included into the national team.

All sections of the club are rigged out with modern equipment and outfit as well as with the sports uniform decorated with Motor Sich symbols.

The sports complex incorporates exercising groups in boxing, dumb-bell lifting, athletic gymnastics, competitive gymnastics, callisthenics, eurhythmics, shaping exerсises, slimnastics, taekwondo martial art, high diving and swimming with 1000 regular participants.

The groups of medical physical training have been established and functioning for daily recuperation and health recovery of more than 200 factory employees forwarded here by the medical division.

The invigoration groups in swimming are opened on weekends in the swimming pool 'Slavutich' for employees and members of their families.

A working spartakiad is held every year among the factory employees. In 2001 the 47th spartakiad was held among 55 factory divisions totally involving 3541 participants. 350 teams have participated in 19 sports.

Such forms of invigoration as in-shop health-care days and weekend tourist trips have been well-rooted in the working collectives. The Motor Sich employees take part in passing qualification standards according to 'Ready to Work and Defend' complex of exercises in track-and-field and swimming.

Every year sports complex Motor Sich holds about 300 sports events in which 19% of factory employees take part (more than 25 000 man-starts).

The masters of the sports complex Motor Sich behave worthily on the sporting arenas and win the highest sports awards contributing to the glory of its general sponsor - the mother factory.

Over the period of 1980 to 2001 the sports complex Motor Sich has raised up:
    - 200 masters of sport;
    - 36 masters of sport of international class;
    - 3 honored masters of sport;
    - 11 honored coaches of Ukraine;
    - 234 champions of Ukraine;
    - 426 prize-winners of Ukrainian championships;
    - 23 champions of the USSR;
    - 49 prize-winners of championships of the USSR;
    - 1 USSR cup-winner (handball team 'Motor');
    - 11 winners of European youth championships;
    - 15 prize-winners of European youth championships;
    - 10 winners of world youth championships;
    - 6 prize-winners of world youth championships;
    - 14 European cup-winners;
    - 24 European cup prize-winners;
    - 4 European champions;
    - 6 world cup prize-winners;
    - 5 world champions;
    - 4 prize-winners of world championship;
    - 16 participants of Olympic games.

The sports shop of the Motor Sich JSC works without failures in harmony with the entire multi-thousand team of engine-builders. The victories in sport and achievements of our sportsmen contribute to the success of our engines and industrial equipment.
